Our Story
MAYD, LLC was inspired by a single mom and her Little Boo.
Most, if not every, parent — especially single parents — go through a moment in their stages of parenthood where a very difficult question must be asked: Do I go to work or do I stay home with my children? According to society, the logical answer would be to go to work, so you can provide for your children. However, we all know, it is not that simple. Every good parent yearns to stay with their kids. In fact, the majority of parents feel financially, physically, or emotionally obligated to go to work against their wishes to stay home.
Is there anything wrong with working? Absolutely not. Working can be good for the mind, body, and soul, especially when you have a calling on your heart. However, the difficulties arise when you want to be with your children, but think you have to leave them and become institutionalized into the working society, just to make an income.
Little Boo’s journey started when he was two months old and his mom, Ashley Ferguson, knew that the maternity leave from her part-time job was about to come to an end. Ashley had that deep desire — the yearning to want to spend every moment she could with her Little Boo — but as all parents know, that decision does not come easy.
Then, all of a sudden, she had an idea — like a light bulb beaming above her head. She was going to start her own business: an online business. She called it MAYD, LLC — which stood for Merchandise At Your Door.
About a month later, Ashley was reading a business book late at night when a spark of passion — a passion that God instantly put on her heart — changed everything. Ashley knew that her flagship brand needed to be centered around children and parent products, and that every single sale would be dedicated to helping other single moms and dads, as well as children who may not have parents. This brand would soon be called Little Boo.
Being a parent is one of the hardest, but most rewarding things one could ever go through. But remember this: no matter what a person may go through in life, you can always find ways to overcome any challenge. Even if it takes one little baby step at a time, anything is possible — especially with God by your side.
This business not only allowed Ashley to stay home with Little Boo, but now Little Boo will continue to impact other single parents’ and foster children’s lives.
Thank you for supporting Little Boo — we are honored to be part of your family’s journey!
